Re: [-empyre-] bandwidth aesthetics

It seems there is some kind of major stipulating going on, much as there is
in the video art scene, where all the totally mindblowing graphics are done
for major studios and not video galleries - i.e., if one expects things to
look grainy with smeary colour, horrible lighting, and tinny sound, it can
be stipulated so, and then one can look at the video's content.

Good Morning Henry!

I am thinking that this whole issue of "quality" artifically siphons the energy away from inspiring configurations that any human may generate anywhere, anytime. Because the dominant philosophy in a consuming society has to be the object of consumption, i.e. a 'thing' to be consumed, we are all taught to measure things on this very perverse and warped scale of material quality -- which, as most people do notice though the society largely ignores or negates -- is a scale that may even be REVERSED in it's REAL 'quality'! -- strangely enough, the society consuming the most and the best are the most psychically ill and rapidly becoming the destructive object of their own consumption. Pity they have to take everyone down with them, but then again, there are sellers everywhere that do support consumption.

Inspiring configurations of the world that humans construct may take any form. Best to ignore those siren calls of contemporary consumer 'quality'. It's a road to (a) hell -- by any standard.

;-)
